GOALS from Ashley Grimes and Nathan Cameron helped Bury set up a Lancashire FA Senior Cup final against either Bolton Wanderers or Wigan Athletic.

The Shakers followed up victory by the same 2-1 scoreline at Blackburn Rovers in the last round with an even more impressive performance at Turf Moor.

Grimes put Ben Futcher's experienced side ahead with a left-footed strike in the first half before centre-back Cameron headed home Lewis Young's corner after the break.

Both goalscorers are pushing for a return to the senior side and will have done their chances no harm with first-team manager David Flitcroft watching on.

Captain Richard Hinds also laid down a marker with some crucial challenges while goalkeeper Reice Charles-Cook and defender James Burke gave Bury boss plenty to think about.

The Shakers back-line showed plenty of resilience in the closing stages after substitute Ntumba Massanka pulled a goal back for the Clarets.

They were able to hang on and will be looking to take a third straight Championship scalp in the final of the competition at the County Ground in Leyland on a date to be confirmed.
