ANTHONY Dudley hit the goal trail again last Saturday to help Bury Under-18s secure a 2-1 win at Shrewsbury.
The 17-year-old striker celebrated making his second appearance for the first team the previous weekend by slotting home his 19th goal in 18 appearances for the youth side.
He followed up a 22nd-minute opener by Brayden Shaw to double the advantage for the Shakers on the half hour.
And while Shrewsbury striker Ethan Jones pulled a goal back two minutes after the break, Ryan Kidd’s Bury outfit hung on to move into second place in the Football League Youth Alliance North West.
They go into Saturday’s match at home to third-placed Rochdale within reach of the summit, just two points behind league leaders Wigan Athletic but with a game in hand.
And with Wigan on cup duty this weekend, victory against Dale would see them take top spot.
