BURY are reported to have sold teenage defender Matty Foulds to Everton.

The Merseysiders have been linked with the 17-year-old for several weeks and the Daily Mail reported today a deal had been done.

According to the article, Foulds will remain at Gigg Lane until January when he will link up with his new team-mates at Goodison Park.

Foulds only signed professional forms earlier this year and has played just two first-team games for the Shakers.

Everton are understood to have faced competition for Fould's signature from Premier League rivals Tottenham and Aston Villa and Championship high-flyers Derby County.

Bury FC were unable to comment.
