ON-loan goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann looks set to miss Bury’s match at title-chasers Gillingham next weekend after being picked to play for Austria Under-21s.

The Stoke stopper has been called up to play in Austria's two European U21s Championship qualifiers at home to Finland next Friday (November 13), the day before Bury are due to play Gillingham, and in Germany the following Tuesday.

Bachmann is also on standby for the senior national side, who play at home to Switzerland on Tuesday, November 17.

The 21-year-old keeper made his debut for Bury against Blackpool last weekend and is due to start against Wigan in the FA Cup on Saturday.

He was loaned in last week as cover for Rob Lainton, who is expected to miss the next six weeks with a groin tear.

Jack Ruddy, aged 18, is the only other keeper in the senior squad and is yet to play for the first team.
