After a good win against Castle Hill in midweek, Tottington consolidated their promising start to the campaign by taking maximum points against hard-working Little Lever to go fourth in the table.
‘Boris’ Hartley deservedly put Totty ahead in the 35th minute and added a second five minutes later.
More Totty pressure told as the Little Lever centre half put through his own goal on 55 minutes.
The home side’s workrate then dipped allowing Little Lever to play some football and they reduced the gap on 65 minutes after taking advantage of some untidy defending. This prompted a response from Totty and Phil Keefe settled things on 80 minutes with a shot into the bottom corner. A clash with unbeaten Old Bolts on Wednesday is followed by a trip to Howe Bridge next Saturday and a tasty Kenyon Cup semi-final at home to Prestwich Heys on September 1, 6.15pm ko.
