An impressive performance saw Bury secure a second successive victory on the all-weather surface at Horwich.
Building on Dan Matkin’s thumping strike after 13 minutes, the Old Boys could have extended the lead further, particularly when McGady’s shot rebounded into the keeper’s arms via the inside of the upright.
The second goal finally arrived just before the interval. Tom Massey pulled off a brilliant save at the foot of the post from a rare Horwich attack and the visitors counter-attacked.
Matkin burst forward from the halfway line before slipping the ball to the supporting Lloyd for a cool finish.
Full-back Jim Patterson reacted quickest to a corner kick to drive in the third goal before Horwich pulled a goal back on the hour.
