WALSHAW had three or four gilt-edged chances to get their noses in front in the early stages when Lee Bruce, Lee Chapman and Dom Slaven all fluffed their lines.
However, the hosts took a deserved lead on 35 minutes when a free-kick was whipped by Brad Howarth to the far post and headed home by Jay Hunter.
Walshaw could have doubled their lead before the break but again a lack of composure in front of goal let them down.
The second period followed much the same pattern with Walshaw in control and Hindsford looking for the quick counter-attacks .
The visitors were indebted to goalkeeper Matt Ince who made saves from Howarth and Jack Alderson to keep them in the contest.
As tempers flared, Hindford’s Rob Cooke was shown his marching orders on 75 minutes for a foul on Luke Chapman in the area.
Captain Lee Chapman buried the spot-kick but a quick counter-attack from the visitors saw Tom Valentine bring Hindsford back into the contest with an effort from close range as Walshaw were made to hold firm against a late onslaught.
