TOTTINGTON United eased to a 2-0 win at home to newly promoted Chaddertonians to consolidate third place in the Lancashire Amateur League Premier Division.

The scoreline did not adequately reflect the home side's dominance in what was their fifth win in seven league games.

New signing Matt Carr scored his second and third goals of the season in the 30th and 40th minutes to seal the three points.

Manager Tony Hanson had to shuffle his pack due to injuries and missed out on the chance to boost their goal tally as a string of chances to extend their lead went begging.

Despite that, Tottington remain just three points behind league leaders Old Boltonians ahead of Saturday's game at home to Old Mancunians, kick off 2.30pm.
