KENYON Cup holders AFC Bury won through to their third Gigg Lane final in succession after what turned out to be a comfortable semi-final victory.
Cho Mande headed home the opener for AFC on the half-hour mark, but Vale came back strongly, missing a handful of gilt-edged chances before the break.
AFC, who play a division above Elton Vale in the Manchester League Premier, exerted more control in the second half, midfielder Greg Wills doubling their advantage with a 25-yard scorcher on 55 minutes.
Gareth Gardener gave Vale hope, netting with a rasping drive from an acute angle, but their hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Mande’s second headed goal restored AFC’s two-goal advantage moments later.
Njie Babooka finally sealed it with a typical mazy run and shot from 20 yards.
AFC Bury will meet either Prestwich CC or Heywood St James in the final at Gigg Lane which takes place on Tuesday, May 1, kick off at 6.30pm.
