WINGER Matty Chadwick has left Radcliffe Borough after almost two years at Stainton Park.
Chadwick picked up the Players’ Player and Young Player of the Year trophies for Boro last season.
The pacy forward signed from Chadderton in December 2011 and has made 80 appearances for Boro – his last coming in the 3-3 FA Trophy preliminary round draw at Clitheroe last weekend. He scored twice in eight games this campaign.
Now he is moving on, possibly to Ashton, as boss Kevin Glendon looks to fine tune his squad.
“We wish him well,” said Glendon.
“He has been great for us and deserved his awards last year.
“But we are constantly looking at the squad and trimming it to get around 16 players with a blend of youth and experience.
“We decided to let him go but thank him for all he has done. He has been great in his two years.”
With Chadwick leaving, Glendon is hoping to loan a player from Fleetwood Town, and also hopes to welcome back experienced defender Rhys Day this weekend following a calf problem.
