Radcliffe Borough made the trip across the Pennines last Saturday to play Harrogate Railway, who had not played a match for six weeks. Boro left with a valuable point to lift them out of the Evo-Stik Division One North relegation zone on goal difference, writes Alan Firth.

The visitors made a good start with Brad Robinson making some industrious runs down the left, after some great passes from the returning left-back Sam Grimshaw.

However, the scoreline remained 0-0 until the 54th minute when Harrogate took the lead. A mix-up in the Boro defence led to Nathan Cartman scoring from close range.

On the hour mark, Boro manager Kevin Glendon and his assistant Paul McGuire made a double substitution. Ben Manning and Dave Sherlock were replaced by Elliot Rocca and Ibk Matutupe-Djo, who was making his debut. This had an immediate impact.

Boro pressed hard for the equaliser with Bevan Burey making a great 40-yard run with the ball into the penalty area. He was stopped by a vital tackle.

From the resulting Brad Robinson corner, Burey flicked the ball on to James Mullineux, who headed in from two yards to level on 67 minutes.

Boro continued to push forward with Crook making an impressive save from Matuppe-Djo’s curling left-foot shot.

With four minutes remaining, Boro took the lead after a great through ball from Danny Lambert found Elliot Rokka who lobbed the Harrogate keeper to make it 2-1.

The lead lasted just two minutes as Harrogate’s inswinging corner deceived Boro’s keeper Chris Cheetham at the near post, and the ball ended up in the net, with Ibrahimi claiming the goal.
