RADCLIFFE Borough conceded two goals in the final 15 minutes to go down 3-1 at home to Colne on Tuesday night.

A deflected Elliot Rokka strike had put them level before the break, cancelling out an earlier penalty.

But they were unable to hold on for a point and dropped to 14th in Evo-Stik First Division North.

Mark Ayres put Colne in front from the spot in the ninth minute, getting up to convert the penalty after being brought down by Darren Torpey on the edge of the box.

The visitors could have added another soon after but for a fine save from keeper Tadhg Ryan, who was left one-on-one with Adam Morning after the Colne striker ran on to a Lee Pugh through ball.

Radcliffe also had several chances in the first half.

Rokka had a possible goal ruled out after the linesman judged his long-range shot did not cross the line.

The winger eventually got himself on the scoresheet after being put through by Raul Corriea.

Radcliffe managed to go into the break on level terms after the woodwork came to their rescue when Matthew Beadle's shot hit the bar from close range.

Colne had another penalty appeal waved away before they went back in front in the 75th minute – substitute Simon Nangle breaking through to slot home.

A Pugh strike from 25 yards sealed the win in style for the visitors in the 86th minute as they moved up to 12th in the table.

Radcliffe's next match is at third-placed Lancaster City on Saturday.
