RADCLIFFE Borough picked up their first point in three matches in a 1-1 draw at Kendal Town on Tuesday despite ending the night with only 10 men.

A 2-0 defeat against Bamber Bridge on Saturday saw Boro drop to 19th place in the Evo-Stik League First Division North.

But a combination of grit and determination saw them end their bad run at Kendal.

They went into the break 1-0 up after Elliot Rokka netted a well-taken goal from the edge of the area following a good ball from Lamin Baldeh.

Rokka nearly grabbed a second just a few minutes later but his strike saved by Will Kitchen in the Kendal goal.

Boro’s Ryan Eislet then very nearly doubled their advantage with an audacious effort from the halfway line.

Kendal had a goal ruled out for offside before the break and continued to test the Boro backline in the second half.

The visitors held firm until the 82nd minute when Robert Bowman prodded home the equaliser from close range.

Boro's task was made even harder when, moments later, Jack Hindle was shown a red card for a tough tackle.

There were chances at both ends in the closing stages, but the welcome point helped Boro jump back up to 18th in the table.
