RADCLIFFE FC manager Jon Macken described his side's 3-3 draw at Skelmersdale United on Saturday as their worst performance of the season.

Boro twice took the lead but had to rely on a Carl Peers equaliser in the dying minutes to earn a point.

They remain 17th in Evo-Stik North, with three draws from their last four league matches stalling their march up the table.

And Macken believes his players must cut out individual mistakes if they want their league position to improve.

"It was the worst we've performed as a team this season," he told Radcliffe Times. "To get three goals away from home is brilliant but it's disappointing to end up with a draw.

"We worked really hard, but again, individual mistakes keep costing us – we need to cut them out."

Recent draws against Mossley and Glossop North End, punctuated by a win against Colwyn Bay, did at least help Radcliffe go through October undefeated in the league.

Macken hopes they will extend that good run on Saturday when they travel to bottom club Goole, but has warned against further complacency

"We don't expect to beat anybody in this league," he said.

"We have to go with the right mind-set and try to win the game.

"We have turned the losses into draws, now it's time to turn the draws into wins.

"We believe we can go into any game and win. We have a great team and great players.

"We just need to believe in ourselves a bit more – we need a winning mentality."

Boro are also in cup action this week, hosting Hallmark Security League side Atherton LR in the Lancashire FA Trophy on Tuesday.
