JON Macken does not want to see a repeat of the slow start his Radcliffe FC players made in Tuesday night's disappointing home defeat to Ossett Albion.
Boro paid for a sluggish opening in which they went 2-0 down before pulling a goal back through Louis Myers in the second half.
Manager Macken is not prepared to stand for his side getting caught in the blocks again and wants to see an improvement when they travel to third-placed Scarborough Athletic on Saturday.
The defeat took the gloss off an excellent performance and 2-0 victory at Clitheroe three days earlier and saw Ossett leapfrog Radcliffe who dropped to 18th place in Evo-Stik North.
"We just didn't turn up," said Macken of his team's start on Tuesday night.
"We will be working on how we start games and on how we can improve how we start on Saturday."
He expects to make changes to the team with some injuries having accumulated.
"We've got a big squad," he said. "We are getting a few injuries but we have got players who are more than adequate to step up and make a difference.
"So hopefully we can get a reaction from the team and from the lads who didn't get on against Ossett."
