A DEAL has been done in principle for Nicky Ajose to re-sign for Bury on loan from Peterborough United.

The 21-year-old Bury-born player was a popular member of the League Two promotion squad in 2010/11, scoring 13 goals in 28 appearances while on loan from the Manchester United youth team.

“Nicky has joined Bury on loan, and we expect the deal to be officially completed on Friday,” said Shakers manager Kevin Blackwell.

Ajose spent the first half of this season on loan at Crawley Town but has made no secret of his desire to return to Bury.

The young striker moved to Peterborough in July 2011 after failing to make it into the full United squad following his previous loan spell at Gigg Lane.

He has only made three appearances for Peterborough, and had spells on loan at Scunthorpe and Chesterfield before joining Richie Barker at Crawley this season.
