Bumper crowds expected at Gigg

BURY should get a welcome boost to their finances over the next fortnight with three massive games at Gigg Lane.

The run starts with Doncaster Rovers on Saturday and will be followed up by the re-arranged Sheffield United fixture on Tuesday, February 12, and Coventry City four days later.

Coventry confirmed today that they had been given a bumper allocation of just over 3,000 tickets to their match with Bury, while Doncaster and Sheffield United are likely to have been given the same.

If uptake is good, the three games could each bring in attendances of 5,000-plus - double this year's current average.

Doncaster took 460 to PNE and Coventry took 760 (both Saturday games), can't see many more coming upto Gigg.
Shame the Sheff Utd game's midweek now, but they'll probably still bring close to 2000......that's the only game i'd expect to be anywhere near to 5000.

Unless BFC are offering lower prices for the away supporters then it's just a pie in the sky idea regarding the bumper gates.

I would expect around the same gate for Donny & Cov as what turned up on NYD for the Tranny game.

Shame these games come up next month when we can't actually buy a decent player with the funds.

Ah well the loan window opens up a week later when all of the decent players will have been snapped up.

A word to the wise please Kev forget about these Agean trialists go get Nunez & Lowe on short term deals if you want to be managing us next season in league 1.

Bumper gates, and???? Bumper points I think would be more interesting. Obviously I know the reality of the finances, but let's get a grip on life.

Funny enough, I fancy our chances on Saturday...why, maybe the passing of a full moon or something like that.

The only reason for any optimism for Saturday against Donny is our record of past fixtures against them.

Bury fc have 19 wins 5 defeats and 4 draws against them i think, but this Donny side are quite invincible away from home this season.

I can't really see how KB can infuse more new loanees in to our team.

We already have 6 loanees so who's going to be left out of the side?.

Just because these three clubs have been given large allocations of tickets doesn't mean they will use them, another non story from the bury times sports department.
