F/T: Bury 2 Doncaster Rovers 0

4:52pm

90 (+1) - Thompson misses from five yards, putting over the rebound after a scrambled shot from Tom Soares.

4:45pm

84 - Sinclair on for Brown

4:43pm

82 - Cotterill puts a header over from six yards.

4:41pm

80 - Bishop just fails to reach an Ajose centre as Bury enjoy a rare counter attack.

4:40pm

79 - Cotterill curls one past the far post with Carson beaten.

4:39pm

77 - Carson pulls off a wonder save to tip James Coppinger's stinging shot over the bar. It's a definite rear-guard action for Bury from here on in.

4:34pm

72 - BOOKED - David Cotterill is lucky not to be sent off for argueing with the referee's assistant, who gave a goal-kick for Bury when the Doncaster midfielder was convinced it was a corner.

4:31pm

69 - Bury get a break in the box after the ball falls to Doncaster centre-back Jamie McCombe who should have scored but fired well over.

4:22pm

60 - Bishop forces Gary Woods into a good stop after powering an Ajose through-ball straight at the Doncaster keeper.

4:18pm

57 - Paynter scuffs a shot wide

4:17pm

56 - SUB - Billy Paynter on for Kyle Bennett. The former Bury wingers gets a warm round of applause from the Shakers fans as he leaves the pitch.

4:16pm

53 – Great free-kick by Dave Cotterill whips across the box but evades everybody. Bury then stand up to another couple of waves of Doncaster attacks.

4:13pm

52 - SUB - Lee Fowler on for Dave Syers

4:08pm

Bury weather an early bit of pressure from Doncaster before the referee blows for a foul on Stephane Zubar in the Shakers box.

4:06pm

K/O: Bury get the second half underway...

3:53pm

Efe Sodje is brought on to the pitch to make the half-time lottery draw. Bit of a wave to the crowd as the big centre-half gets a decent reception.

I wonder if it will be his last appearance at Gigg Lane?

3:50pm

H/T: Bury 2 Doncaster 0

Bury's players get a well-deserved standing ovation as they leave the pitch - fingers crossed for the second half.

3:49pm

45 (+3) - James Coppinger gives a warning that Bury won't have it all their own way in the second half with a long-range shot that whistled just past Carson's post.

3:42pm

Bury have certainly been missing a feel-good factor here at Gigg Lane of late, but with Bishop and Ajose on the scoresheet, this is a throw-back to the heady days of 2011.

Beware though, Donnie have the best away record (10 wins, three draws and one defeat) of the 92 league clubs.

3:36pm

Ethan Ebanks-Landell is forced into a change of shirt after a busted nose leaves a decent patch of blood on his old one.

35 - Bishop has a shot blocked after good build-up play involving Scuhmacher and Soares.

36 - GOAL - BURY 2 Doncaster 0 - Nicky Ajose turns in a Skarz corner after the ball was headed down by Ashley Eastham and the Shakers striker turns the ball in on the line. It was a very popular goal with the crowd on Ajose's third Gigg debut for his hometown club.

3:26pm

25 - GOAL - BURY 1 Doncaster 0 - Andy Bishop shows just what Bury have been missing during his absence, getting ahead of the last man to nod Nicky Ajose's dinked cross from the byline across Doncaster keeper Gary Woods and into the net.

3:22pm

20 - Schumacher launches one from distance, but Bury's first effort on goal in the match goes high and wide.

3:20pm

19 - BOOKED - Ashley Eastham for a deliberate handball (although it looked like a shoulder)

3:19pm

Brightest moment of the matc h so far - an unruly Doncaster fan launches a flare or firework onto the Gigg Lane pitch.

3:16pm

14 - BOOKED - Doncaster right-back Paul Quinn goes into referee Tony Bates's notebook for a foul on Ajose

3:14pm

13 - Dave Syers skies a Brown chest-down

3:12pm

11 - Carson gets down quickly to hold on to a Chris Brown header after the Doncaster striker stole a yard to get on to David Cotterill's long free-kick into the box.

3:11pm

Steady start by Bury, who are playing 4-2-3-1, with Nicky Ajose looking dangerous on the break and Andy Bishop lending some much-needed muscle up front, but no chances for either side as yet...

3:01pm

K/O: Doncaster get the match underway...

2:40pm

The word from the Bury camp is that there is nothing sinister in David Worrall's omission from the Shakers squad today.

Apparently, the winger picked up a thigh strain in training yesterday.

2:34pm

Team news

Kevin Blackwell has made two changes from the side that drew 0-0 at Shrewsbury last Saturday.

In comes new signing Carl Regan at right-back, in replace of David Worrall, who is missing from the squad entirely, and Andy Bishop makes his first start in eight games, taking the striker's shirt from Lenell John-Lewis, who left for Grimsby in mid-week.

Bury only have five players on the bench, which includes no defensive cover.

Efe Sodje, who turned down offers from Macclesfield and Luton to stay on at Gigg Lane, is missing from the squad, while Blackwell dispensed with the services of right-back Andrai Jones and central defender Mark Hughes this week.

Tom Hopper also misses out due to the five loan player limit in the squad, but regular reserve goalkeeper Cameron Belford returns after a month at Accrington Stanley.

2:19pm

Great result for the lads well done.It we were under the cosh for large parts of the second half as Donny battered us but achieved nothing.

Their Radio commentator Steve Crossman was incredibly biased and didn't give us any credit for winning.

Even when Donny were 2-0 down he said and i quote "THEY ARE THERE FOR THE TAKING".

Our great record against them continues.

Has the tide turned? Lets hope they can consolidate this win in their next rescheduled games. Who knows, maybe even the gates may improve?

A marvelous performance by the whole team earned a well deserved win.Everyone played well but Soares,Bishop,Ebanks
-Landell and Eastham were absolutely top drawer.Nice to put one over the graceless Flynn, easily one of the worst players in Bury's history and not much better as a manager,it's hard to see Rovers going up with him now in charge. The 4-1-4-1 line up worked perfectly and it was nice to see goals coming from perfectly worked set plays and a clean sheet earned by blood, sweat, toil and no little skill. The only sour note was Blackwell leaving Sodje off the bench and consequently only naming five subs with no defenders,it was a petty, spiteful gesture and the decision of a man who lacks class.Healy also turned down a move in January, yet he gets picked on the bench despite his consistent lack of effort, where is the consistency? There really were a frightening lack of plausible alternatives on the bench yesterday which is presumbably why we didn't make any changes even when one or two of the lads tired, but if the first eleven augmented by Worrall and Mezague continue to put in performances like yesterday we could yet escape.

There are no negatives here, plain and simple. A fantastic display and certainly KB gets full marks for the defenders...this is the type of win that can create confidence and build on a 3 game without loss streak.
No reason to be scared of Brentford net week, they may be "there for the taking".
Nice comments Eileen on the Donny commentator....
