TWO stunning saves and the crossbar denied Bury a first win in six matches following an entertaining game played out in atrocious conditions at the JD Stadium.

On-loan Burton Albion defender Chris Hussey fired Bury ahead from a tight angle in the 60th minute, but Luke Norris curled home the equaliser against the run of play six minutes later.

Daggers stopper Chris Lewington made two fantastic one-handed saves to deny Clive Platt from close range.

While Shakers substitute Andy Procter thought he had scored the winner 10 minutes from time when his header from a Hussey corner bounced down off the underside of the crossbar.

The ball looked to have gone over the line but referee David Webb waved away the Bury appeals.

The Shakers dropped a place to 19th in the League Two table following their fourth draw in the last six matches. But, coupled with a draw for second-bottom Northampton, the point was enough to see them retain their four-point cushion over the drop zone.
