REICE Charles-Cook has turned down a new deal at Bury.

The 20-year-old keeper, who played just twice for the Shakers last season, has opted to quit the JD Stadium after David Flitcroft snapped up Shwan Jalal on a free transfer from Bournemouth.

Charles-Cook is reportedly interesting clubs higher up the Football League pyramid.

His agent, Lee Payne of Full Contact, told Sky Sports: “Reice decided to move on from Bury.

“He had a good time there, and will always be grateful to David Flitcroft for giving him his Football League debut and for offering him a new contract, but he wants to explore other options.

“A lot of people know how talented Reice is and we now have to decide between us what the next step will be.”
