NEW signing Joe Riley sees no reason why Bury should settle for the play-off places after a recent burst of good form put them right back in the promotion mix.

The Shakers jumped from 10th to seventh in the League Two table this week with back-to-back victories and are unbeaten in three matches since Riley signed from Bolton Wanderers.

The 23-year-old full-back made his debut from the bench in a 1-0 win at Accrington on Tuesday, and has seen enough to predict a successful push for League One.

“There is a special group of lads here - it’s definitely the best squad in the league, so I see no reason why we can’t get promoted,” he said.

“You have got to strive for the top. If we miss out then we miss out, but if we show the same commitment and attitude that we did at Accrington then we won’t be far off.”
