YOUTH team coach Ryan Kidd says there is plenty more talent waiting in the wings after Bury officially unveiled the signings of five Under-18s players on professional contracts.
The deals for goalkeeper Jack Ruddy, defenders Matty Foulds and Marcus Poscha, midfielder Scott Burgess and striker Anthony Dudley were signed and sealed this week.
That followed a 4-0 victory for the youth team at Accrington Stanley on Saturday that extended their lead at the top of the Football League Youth Alliance North West to four points.
“We’ve got some talented first year scholars who this time next year will more than likely also have pro contracts,” said Kidd. “So the future’s looking bright.
“We also have some u16s that we’re very pleased with as well.”
The U16s are northern champions and made it all the way to the national final before losing 4-1 against Leyton Orient on Sunday.
