FIGHTING briefly broke out amongst Bury fans at the end of a six-goal thriler at Gresty Road when manager David Flitcroft appraoched the away end after the game.

The Shakers scored three goals for the second straight match yet still continue to search for their first win of the League One season after Bradden Inman's late equaliser earned Crewe a point.

Flitcroft says he marched over to the travelling Bury supporters, sat at the opposite side of the ground from the dugout, to assure them he would find a winning formula.

But the Shakers boss said it turned nasty when "three out of 780" started to confront him.

The trouble was over almost as soon as it began, with supporters loyal to the manager taking the matter into their own hands.

Punches were thrown as Flitcroft was led away and he was clearly shaken by the incident.

"I don't agree with it," he said. "I am going over there to speak to the fans to say 'listen, we wil get this right'.

"But when you are getting that tirade of abuse, I can only thank the other fans, they are the real fans for me, the ones who picked me up after that.

"We try to get things right in 95 minutes and sometimes we don't.

"But I think the expectation of what Bury can achieve at every single football ground is becoming a little bit unrealistic.

"I will get the goals conceded right, but for the work my staff and players and board and everyone puts in, we don't need that tirade of abuse.

"I am disgusted with the three fans it was today. I don't care how long they have been supporting this football club.

"I do 18 hours a day for this football club. The chairman probably does 20. My players, I ask them to sacrifice everything.

"There was 780 (Bury) fans here that appreciate that and I can only thank them and respect them for that, but the three who have not represented Bury today, I find them disgusting people."

Flitcroft had promised fans after a 4-3 defeat to Fleetwood in midweek that his side would thrash out their defensive problems on the training pitch.

But their back-line again looked fragile as Crewe twice took the lead in the opening half through goals from Adam King and Ryan Colclough.

Bury remain potent in attack though and they bounced back with goals from Danny Mayor and Tom Soares before the break and then took the lead through Danny Rose on 58 minutes.

They were unable to see out the game though as Inman fired Crewe back level with 10 minutes to play, leaving both sides still in search of their first three points of the campaign.
