DANNY Rose says he switched Bury for Mansfield in pursuit of regular football.

The 22-year-old striker signed for the League Two side yesterday for an undisclosed fee after falling down the pecking order at Gigg Lane.

Rose said: "[Moving to Mansfield] means playing games regularly, scoring a few goals, contributing to the team and hopefully a push towards promotion.

"It's a good club and I'm delighted to be here. Hopefully it will be a successful time here."

Rose made 81 appearances and scored 20 goals for Bury after moving from hometown club Barnsley in August, 2014.

He prized away from his hometown club following after a successful loan period with the Shakers, when he scored three goals in seven games at the tail end of the 2013/14 season, helping to move Bury away from relegation danger.

After returning to Gigg Lane, the former Tyke played a role in the Shakers' promotion to League One, but scored just six goals in 34 appearances last season, the majority of which came off the bench.

He had one year remaining on his contract and it has been widely reported that any fee will increase depending on goals scored and future promotion with the Stags, while there is also understood to be a sell-on clause.
