BURY aim to have a piece of land identified for their new stadium before the end of the year and hope to move into their new home by 2019.

Chief executive Glenn Thomas confirmed the timescale in an exclusive interview with the Bury Times.

“In an ideal situation we want to have a piece of land identified this year and to be able to move into our new ground within three years,” Thomas explained.

“The difficulty is to find the right piece of land within the Bury council borough."

Thomas revealed the club had already discounted one site because building work was projected to take longer than their targeted deadline.

He added: “The council are working with us to try to identify the right sites.

"One of the sites that was identified unfortunately would take far too long, as in a few years, for it to come to fruition.

“We have got another couple on our radar so we are doing due diligence and working with the council.”

Meanwhile, Bury are expecting to reveal their new kits within the next couple of weeks.

Rainham Steel will sponsor the front of the shirt, taking over from Village Hotels, while Go Goodwins have been announced as the official shorts sponsors.

The club announced earlier in the summer that Kappa have replaced New Balance as kit manufacturer.
