BURY have signed Birmingham City striker James Vaughan on a two-year deal.
The 28-year-old former Everton frontman was understood to be close to agreeing a move to Championship side Burton Albion before the Shakers swooped.
He joins on a free transfer and is eager to get amongst the goals at Gigg Lane.
“I had a good chat with the chairman and manager for a couple hours, listened to what they had to say and wanted to be part of the project they’ve got going on here," said Vaughan in a statement released by the club.
Vaughan began his career with Everton in 2004 and still remains the Premier League’s youngest ever goal scorer at 16.
He enjoyed loan spells at Derby County, Leicester and Crystal Palace before joining Norwich City in 2011.
A move to Huddersfield followed in 2013 before he joined Birmingham in January.
