SUMMER signing Nicky Clark has been released by Bury and signed for Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic on a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old striker has failed to settle at Gigg Lane since moving from Rangers on a free transfer in June.
He made just four appearances for the club and failed to score.
A statement from Bury FC read: "As the club have taken the opportunity to sign James Vaughan, his arrival at Gigg Lane would have limited Nicky’s chances of further appearances for the club.
"And after receiving interest from Dunfermline, and an honest and open discussion with the manager, Nicky has decided to return to Scotland.
"He leaves Bury with our best wishes for this next stage of his career."
Clark helped Rangers win the Scottish Championship title with six goals last season.
He has also played for Queen of the South and Peterhead after beginning his career at Aberdeen.
