BURY have allowed summer signing Adam Thompson to join Bradford City on a season-long loan, both clubs have confirmed.

The central-defender joined from Southend in June and started the Shakers' first three games of the campaign, which included an opening-day victory and clean sheet against Walsall.

But a defeat against Sunderland followed in the Carabao Cup before Bury slumped to a 4-1 loss at derby rivals Wigan.

Thompson, who is currently away with Northern Ireland on international duty, fell out of favour after the Shakers' dip in form, with Alex Whitmore and Nathan Cameron partnered in the centre of defence for last weekend's 0-0 draw at Rochdale.
