Video stores safe for now

BLOCKBUSTER stores in Bury and Radcliffe have escaped immediate closure following the DVD and video games rental company going into administration in January.

Last week, the joint administrators to Blockbuster said they intended to shut an additional 164 stores over the coming weeks as part of a phased closure. The remaining stores will continue to trade as usual whilst administrators progress negotiations with bidders. A spokesman said that the stores in Bolton Road, Bury, and Outwood Road, Radcliffe, were not among the 164 earmarked for closure.

Just a matter of time though unfortunately. I read Morrisons were going to buy some of the premises to turn into their M stores. Sadly I can't see the Bolton Rd premises being one of these.
.
I've said it before but I'm still amazed at how long Blockbuster actually stayed in business.
