BURY hung on to claim their first win in nine matches and first victory away from home since mid September after coming from behind to beat Northampton Town at the Sixfields.

Marc Richards put the Cobblers ahead after only five minutes, but Bury went into the break in front following a 30-yard strike from Andrew Tutte and a Tom Soares header.

Danny Mayor doubled their advantage on 57 minutes, rifling the ball into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

But after Bury defender Hayden White and Ivan Toney were sent off for fighting the home side pulled a goal back through Chris Hackett straight from a corner.

David Flitcroft’s side were able to hang on though to notch up their first win since beating Hemel Hempstead in the first round of the FA Cup on November 8.
