BURY'S second XI picked up where the senior side left off after coming from behind to beat Rochdale 2-1 in the final of the Lancashire FA Senior Cup tonight.
Second half goals from defender Matty Foulds and Khalid Mohammed cancelled out Lewis Alessandra's opener to secure victory at the County Ground.
The Shakers side, which qualified for the final with a semi-final win against Wigan at the tail end of last season, was a mixture of first-team players and Under-18s.
Senior squad members like Jacob Mellis and Danny Rose were given a run-out but it was up-and-coming defender Foulds who stole the show with a classy finish for the equaliser.
The 17-year-old, who signed his first pro deal in the summer, demonstrated just why he is knocking on the door of the first team after adding finishing power to his undoubted defensive skills.
And as Bury pressed in the closing stages, it was another youth prospect in Mohammed, also 17, who was on hand to seal the win and repeat the scoreline from the senior side's victory at Wigan in the Capital One Cup last night.
