HALF-TIME: Hartlepool 1 Bury 0
3:46pm Saturday 17th September 2011 in Matchday By Marc Higginson
BURY are on course for their seventh consecutive defeat this afternoon, as they trail to Nolberto Solano's goal at Victoria Park.
After surviving a scare in the first minute, the Shakers seemed to be growing into the contest when Shaun Harrad saw his neat turn and shot saved by Scott Flinders.
The home side were posing little threat but they burst into life in the 33rd minute when former Newcastle United star Solano latched on to a simple ball down the middle and easily beat Trevor Carson.
The lead could have been doubled sixty seconds later, but a simple tap-in at the far post was ruled out by the linesman.
United might be unbeaten this season, but Bury have the beating of them if they show a little more spark and adventure in the final third.
David Worrall looks lively on the right but he needs better service than Peter Sweeney and Giles Coke are providing.
