Shakers swoop to make double signing
2:29pm Friday 9th November 2012 in Shakers Updates By Craig Nelson
BURY have made a double swoop ahead of tomorrow’s League One match at home to Portsmouth.
Former Crystal Palace midfielder Tom Soares, aged 26, has signed for the Gigg Lane outfit on non-contract terms, while 19-year-old Wolves defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell has been brought in on a month-long loan deal.
Soares has been training with the Shakers over the past month in a bid to prove his fitness after picking up a hamstring injury during an initial trial.
The midfielder has been without a club since being released by Stoke in the summer. He made just 12 appearances for the Potters after making a £1.25million move to the Britannia Stadium from Palace in 2008.
While Soares could be a long-term prospect, if he can resurrect the form that saw him score 12 goals in 162 appearances for the Eagles, Ebanks-Landell is only expected to offer short-term cover.
The Black Country defender joined Wolves in 2001 and has played at every age level at the club but is yet to make his first-team debut. His temporary deal at Gigg Lane runs until January 3.
Both players will be available for selection for tomorrow's visit of Portsmouth.

I want to wish you both well in your stay at our club.
I presume that Ethan has joined us on a youth loan.
I thought we had already 5 loan players.
Kev is bringing in the quality players we need which is important.
Onwards and upwards,3 points tomorrow would be very nice.
I'm going for a narrow win but a high scoring game.
Perhaps now we have signed Ethan Adam's days at our club might be numbered.
You can't keep letting your team mates down even if you do actually win a game.
