3:47pm
45 – Bury somehow manage to clear their lines after Matthew Rose’s low cross from the left flashes across the six yard line.
A quick free kick then sees Worrall set free on the right, but Hopper is unable to turn his low ball in at the near post.
3:41pm

29 – Trevor Carson palms a Henderson volley behind for a corner, then gets down well to smother Craig Eastmond’s shot from the resulting corner.
3:15pm
Two good chances early doors for Colchester, with widemen Freddie Sears and Ian Henderson going close.
Kevin Blackwell looks to have tried to match up Colchester’s 4-5-1 formation, playing new boy Tom Soares alongside Steven Schumacher and Zac Thompson in a midfield three.
It’s the home side though that are getting on the ball in the middle of the park and getting in behind Bury with pacey runs from deep.

l got his team selection badly wrong yesterday. The only available strikers were Hopper and Hewitt, yet selecting Ebanks-Landell ahead of Sodje meant that Hewitt couldn't be picked in the squad (five loan players already) and left us without a striker option on the bench, madness! Then he compounded the error by picking the untested Soares ahead of Sweeney in a five man midfield.I know Blackwell is not a huge fan of either Sodje or Sweeney but his detemination to cram as many of his own signinds as possible into the side on Saturday lessened our chances of a positive result.

I would now pair up Ebanks-Landell & Efe as our regular centre backs and play Hopper & Hewitt up front with Thomo,Schuey centre mid with Wozzer and Soares or Jonah on the flanks.
The defence is sorted, midfield isn't a problem but we do need more options up front and preferably a seasoned finisher who can bag us 15-20 goals between now and the end of the season.

.It looks like we missed Hewitt and Bishop today.
Not enough threat going forward and defensive lapses have cost us at the back.
Credit to our goalkeeper who sounds like he has kept our goal intact during the first half.
At least from a stats point of view we are not in a worse position making up more of a points defecit than at the start of the game.
I think Kevin will have learnt a valuable lesson today.
Never change a winning side it simply never works.
I'm sure there will be those who are glad to see that Lockwood was missing from today's game.
However he had his best game of the campaign against Pompey.
We need an experienced centre forward who can score us 15-20 goals a season and a settled back four.
At least Scunny dropped points and had their influential centre half Reid sent off so let's hope we can achieve a victory at The Iron on Tuesday.
The 2 new lads will take time to settle in so we can't judge their performance yet.
The history books tell us that that we never do well against Colchester United either at Layer Road or their new ground.
Let's start another run of unbeaten games and put this defeat behind us.
