9:20pm

74 - Lenell John-Lewis and Troy Hewitt on for Tom Hopper and David Healy

9:14pm

69 - GOAL - Bury 1 PRESTON 2 - Andy Procter curls a precise effort into the bottom corner after Carson comes out for a cross and fails to get enough on his punch. Substitute Lee Holmes laid the ball into his path and the centre-midfielder kept his head to finish while Carson lay prostrate in the middle of the box. Bury manager Kevin Blackwell had plenty to say to the fourth official, claiming a clear foul on his keeper.

9:12pm

67 - Carson gets down low to his left to palm away a strong Graham Cummins header.

9:10pm

64 - BOOKED - Procter goes into the book for a wild lunge on Gregg Wylde.

9:07pm

9:05pm

60 - Hopper is put through but Stuckman comes out to block his chipped shot on the edge of the Preston box.

9:04pm

59 - Doherty fires a very optimistic shot well over from 30 yards.

9:01pm

55 – Beavon then almost rubs salt in the wounds at the other end, firing a shot over on the turn from just outside the box.

9:00pm

54 - Referee Gary Sutton waves away strong claims against Beavon for handball in the Preston box.

8:58pm

8:53pm

K/O: Preston kick off the second half with no changes for either side...

8:33pm

44 – Healy volleys straight at Stuckman, who does well to hold on to the reflex shot from the Northern Ireland striker from midway inside the box.
45 – Carson has to dive full-stretch to palm a fierce Byrom shot around his near post.
45 – Sub – Lee Holmes on for Jeffrey Monakana

8:23pm

35 – Thorsten Stuckman stays tall in the Preston goal to block out a driven effort by Matt Doherty at his near post. The chance followed good work by David Healy and Worrall on the right, who fed an intelligent short pass into Doherty’s run into the box, but the right-back could not finish from a tight angle.

8:10pm

25 - GOAL - Bury 0 PRESTON 1 - Trevor Carson just fails to keep out Jack King's shot from a Joe Byrom corner. The Bury defence were caught napping as King made a late run into the box and was completely unmaked when he struck Byrom's rolled set-piece goalward.

8:05pm

18 - Tom Hopper and Efe Sodje both fling themselves at a low ball whipped in by Steven Schumacher that evaded everyone as it swung across the Preston six-yard box.

8:03pm

That doesn't count a poor free-kick from Gregg Wylde who wasted a chance from the right, sending an inswinging effort high and wide when a host of Bury players were waiting in the box for a cross.

8:00pm

15 - First shot of any note for either side is curled well-wide by Preston midfielder John Mousinho.

7:52pm

David Healy couldn't have timed his return from injury better. Missing for eight games, only to enjoy a less than polite welcome from the Preston fans on his return.

oh how he would love a goal or two tonight!

7:47pm

1 - Straight from the whistle, Tom Hopper storms down the left and swings in a decent cross that David Worrall swings at and fluffs twice.

7:46pm

K/O: Bury get the tie underway...

Team news

Kevin Blackwell makes two changes to the starting line-up from Saturday's defeat at Crewe.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell is left out of the squad altogether, while Troy Hewitt drops to the bench.

Bolton Wanderers winger Gregg Wylde returns as Blackwell switches back to a 4-4-2 system, and striker David Healy gets a rare start against his former club.

One other point of note, Bury go into the game with only five on the bench - Cameron Belford is one of the notable absentees, meaning the Shakers start without a substitute keeper.

Just seen the team for tonight, there's a certain logic about nine of the eleven, but those two lazy waste of spaces Healy and Wylde are bizarre selections.

As for Westley being sore about the fact that we didn't return the ball and went against the spirit of the game who cares?.

At the end of the day there are players out there who want to cause injuries to their fellow professionals.

Westley's teams tend to feign injuries if his past record at Stevenage & PNE is anything to go by.

Wake up and smell the coffee Graeme.

What sanctions do you think should be taken against our club for not returning the ball?.

Let's hope we can bury your lot at Deepdale a week today with 3 points and it will be a big loss for you

It's harsh to say one persons missed penalty cost us a place in the next round......penalties are a lottery, end of. Were you slating the 3 lads who missed penalties at Southend.....No!!!

I'm not Wyldes biggest fan either, but to throw the whole blame on him isn't on.

With regards selections:
I presume Healy and Wylde only started to give them game time and inturn giving Hewitt and A N Other a rest for tomorrows game.......well, hopefully anyway.

The conditions at roots hall last week were difficult to say the least.

I think the lads were just pleased to get back on the bus home escaping a serious injury.

That game was a lottery too, pity i didn't buy a ticket that night.

I doubt you will hear the fans of Sheffield United,Leeds United & Luton Town singing our manager's praises in the past or present Easy.
