BURY'S League Two match at Mansfield Town tonight is under threat after the Nottinghamshire club called for a pitch inspection.

A statement on the Mansfield Town website read: "A local referee will inspect the One Call Stadium surface at 2pm and deem whether or not it is fit for action this evening."

The original fixture, on Tuesday, January 28, was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

And with heavy rain falling overnight and this morning, the outlook does not look good.

Bury's match at Torquay United on Saturday was called off less than three hours before kick-off.

That was the third postponement the Shakers have fallen foul of in the last few weeks, after recent bad weather also hit last month's game at Accrington Stanley.
