2:45pm

Bury boss David Flitcroft has named a full strength side for the visit of League One neighbours Rochdale.

He has resisted the temptation to rest players ahead of the big kick-off next weekend, with Ryan Lowe recovering from the knock to his side he picked up in Lee Williamson's wild tackle on Wednesday night, which earned the Blackburn defender a red card.

Fellow striker Danny Nardiello, who has been struggling with a virus, also starts as he bids to continue a rich vein of form that has brought him five goals in the last three matches.

Kelvin Etuhu is the only change to the side that drew 1-1 with Rovers in midweek, with the summer signing making a first start for the club alongside Tom Soares in the centre of midfield.

Andrew Tutte and Clive Platt have once again failed to make the matchday squad after sitting out Wednesday night's game.

But Joe Thompson looks close to securing a deal at the club after being named on the bench and handed a squad number.

Unlike last night's 0-0 draw at Ramsbottom, when Flitcroft named a raft of "trialists" on his team sheet, only one "A Trialist" has made it into today's lin-up.

His identity is not yet confirmed, but former Ipswich midfielder Devann Yao, who came on late in Wednesday's draw, could well be the anonymous substitute.

2:24pm

Great half of football going forward as an attacking side just looking a little suspect in defence at times with certain individuals switching off and not picking up or tracking their offensive players.
Overall though a really positive display from the lads, just keep it up for the next 40 minutes.

Does DF know how to make impact substitutions?.as soon as Etuhu came off we have looked decidedly shakey, defensively we have looked vulnerable today which must be a concern to our fans.

"The players forgot to lock the pitch down David ",they must have lost their padlock,.on a positive note the fans, players of both sides were a credit to their clubs applauding Joey on to the pitch,I really hope we have signed him up he's shown fantastic fighting spirit off the pitch which can only make him a stronger person and player on it.Now does anyone think we might have to review our choice of the goalkeeping position after that howler which gifted Fail a draw?.Morgan was the difference today had he not been introduced and Etuhu not been taken off we would have won this game easily.

Friendlies are all about assessment. Certainly we do not want to advocate letting in goals, but the Management team will **** all these actions and make adjustments! Goals, we have been scoring them and I see a great deal more coming!! Nards and Lowe are dynamic up front, Danny and Hussey are workhorses!! Nicky is shining bright as ever and the rest of the lads are doing GREAT. Yes, defensively the team will get better and I have every trust in David and the team...every!! Look at the structure of this club from one year ago!!

I was not at the match but listened on line to our trusty commentators who repeatedly referred to our brilliant play. I also concur with the "statement someone will take a hiding from us this year". I would like to add to that by saying "many".

Chelty better be ready...they could be first.

Well done to the Chair, Flits and management and to the team. No way will our club ever be 2 hours away from going out of existence.

UTS!!!
