BURY have added young Everton striker Courtney Duffus to their ranks ahead of today's trip to Southend United.

The teenager, who joined the Toffees from Cheltenham with brother Tyrone in 2011, will remain at the JD Stadium on loan until January.

Duffus starred for Everton's under-18s side last season as they won the FAU18 Premier League title.

He has progressed to the U21s development side this campaign and Shakers boss David Flitcroft believes hthe 6ft 2ins forward will prove another good addition to his ranks.

Flitcroft told the Bury website: "Courtney is a player we have watched for a while now.

"We get out to a lot of games and he caught the eye a few weeks ago.

"We tracked him again last week against a good Wigan Athletic side where he scored a very good goal.

"He has pace, power and wants to run in from behind and hurt other sides.

"Everton were very happy with the way we looked after Hallam Hope last season and were more than happy for Courtney to come here on loan to learn.

"Courtney is very mature for his age and is a player that I am really looking forward to working with."

Duffus joins the returning Tom Kennedy in the travelling squad heading to Essex today.
