BURY manager David Flitcroft has dismissed speculation his former captain Jim McNulty is set to move to Rochdale.
The 29-year-old centre-back has not started a match since Bury’s defeat at Luton in the FA Cup in mid-December after losing his place to Bristol City loanee Adam El-Abd.
As a result, he has also lost the armband, which has been handed to 23-year-old defender Nathan Cameron.
But despite playing just 15 minutes of Bury’s last four matches, Flitcroft says the former Barnsley defender is going nowhere.
“I don’t know where these rumours have come from,” said the Bury boss.
“I obviously keep in touch with Keith (Hill, the Rochdale manager) but there is nothing in it.
“Jim is being kept out of the team by the good form of Nathan and Adam, but there is no problem between us.
“We go way back to my time (as manager) at Barnsley and get on fantastically well.
“He has continued to support the group during his time on the sidelines and keeps on training hard like a true professional, so no, he is going nowhere.”
