NICKY Adams has joined Northampton Town on a three-year deal, just a week after being told he was surplus to requirement at the Shakers.
The 28-year-old midfielder found himself of the transfer list despite playing 44 times, 35 of which were starts.
The livewire Boltonian had signed a three-year deal last summer in what was his second spell at the club.
But with David Flitcroft looking to go in a different direction he has now made a switch to the Cobblers, agreeing to move on a free transfer.
He reunites with ex-Shakers boss Alan Knill, who is assistant manager at Sixfields, and Chris Wilder, who was briefly on the staff at Bury in 2008.
Adams has previously played for Leicester City, Rotherham United, Brentford, Rochdale and Crawley Town.
