FORMER Bolton Wanderers right-back Joe Riley faces an uncertain future at Gigg Lane after interest from another club.

The 24-year-old was absent from the squad for Bury's 1-0 win against local rivals Oldham on Saturday and has not played for the Shakers since being hauled off following a goal-costing mistake against Walsall the previous weekend.

One rumoured destination circulating social media is Leyton Orient, where the full-back could link up with former Wanderers skipper Kevin Nolan, who took over the manager's role last week.

Bury boss David Flitcroft was not giving anything away about the interested party, but insisted he will let everybody know when the time is right.

"We have had an interest from a club and we spoke to Joe about it," he said. "That's something that we are monitoring over the weekend.

"I have got a very strong squad and I have players coming back now who we are really getting them back up to their fitness level.

"We had a similar situation with David Worrall last week and I told you that we do our business afterwards, we don't do it through the media.

"I have had an enquiry and we will follow that up on Monday. We are going to let people know what is going on when the time is right."
