BURY'S threadbare squad has been boosted by the return of Anthony Dudley after the teenage striker's loan spell with National League side Guiseley was terminated.

The 19-year-old forward scored five goals in seven appearances during his first spell at Nethermoor before the turn of the year, but he returned to Gigg Lane for the festive period, making two appearances in the Shakers’ defeats at Port Vale and Fleetwood.

Dudley was then loaned back to the West Yorkshire club in January but failed to score in any of his four starts.

The Bury youth team graduate was due to stay with Guiseley until the end of the season.

Shakers manager David Flitcroft announced last week his desire to bring the striker back into the fold but said his loan was “locked in", meaning there was no recall clause.

The Bury boss has had his wish granted, however, ahead of the trip to Spotland this weekend after reaching a ‘mutual agreement between both clubs and the player'.
