BURY goalkeeper Jack Ruddy has signed a two-year deal at Wolves.

The club have confirmed the departure of the 18-year-old reserve stopper for an undisclosed fee, which is understood to be a five-figure sum up front, plus add ons.

Ruddy joined the Gigg Lane youth set-up in July, 2014, moving from Spain, where he was on the youth books at Segunda Division side Real Murcia after moving to the continent with his family.

He started his career in the Glasgow Rangers academy and has played for Scotland at Under-17s and U20s level.

The young Scot signed a professional contract with Bury during his first year at the club and was a vital part of the U18s' Youth Alliance Championship-winning side in the 2014-15 season.

After being named on the Shakers' bench on a number of occasions, Ruddy finally made his first-team debut last November in a 3-1 defeat at Gillingham.

Despite that being his one and only appearance for Bury, he has been continually linked with moves to Premier League and Championship sides.

After reportedly being courted by Liverpool before joining Bury, Ruddy is understood to have had a trial with Aston Villa last year, around the same time teenage Bury defender Matty Foulds was sealing a move to Everton.

A statement from Bury read: "Jack is a player that has attracted interest from other clubs since his arrival.

"He is the latest product of the ever flourishing youth system at Bury Football Club and, along with other current youngsters, is just one more that has attracted interest from Premiership, Championship and foreign scouts.

"Jack leaves Gigg Lane with our best wishes for the next stage of his career and we wish him every success at Molineux Stadium."
