LEE Clark is looking to shake things up as Bury prepare for a brutal derby-day double-header over Easter weekend.

The Shakers begin the first of two crucial clashes at home to Rochdale this evening, before travelling to Bolton on Tuesday.

Clark’s side are still desperate for points and could put the pressure on their relegation rivals with a win at Gigg Lane tonight.

However, the Bury boss acknowledges his side have not been at the races in recent weeks with back-to-back defeats to Oxford and Bradford.

The downturn in form could force Clark to ditch his 5-3-2 formation in a bid for a more attacking, expansive style of football.

“Our system has been found out a little bit so we have to have a Plan B,” Clark told the Bury Times. “We have to get back to where we were performance-wise.

“In the last few days we have been looking at something different. Teams have been able to stop us playing but we want to get back to being on the front foot and dominating teams.

“We want to score more goals. Goals win games. That’s something we have been lacking but we are looking to put it right again.

“The players shouldn’t need motivating for the local derbies. Against Oldham we were the dominant team and put in a spirited performance.

“We have a lot of experienced pros in this side and they will know exactly what is required.”

However, Clark is sweating on the fitness of right-back Taylor Moore, who could miss out with a thigh injury.

Full-back Craig Jones is ruled out for the rest of the season, but Reece Brown is back in contention after two months out and could return if Paul Caddis is shifted to right-back.

“Unfortunately Craig Jones has tweaked his calf and it looks like his stop-start season is now over,” Clark added.

“Taylor Moore has also felt his thigh and is a big doubt.

“We do have Reece Brown back available for tonight so he could well come back in contention.”

Meanwhile, Keith Hill has this week accused his Rochdale side of having a “losing mentality” after winning only five games on the road all season.

But Clark is not getting involved in the mind games as the Shakers prepare to host Dale, who Bury have not beaten in the league in the last eight attempts.

Clark said: “Keith was just speaking after the loss to Shrewsbury in that he has been disappointed in the away performances.

“I went to watch Rochdale in midweek last week against Port Vale and they have lots of good players.”
