BURY Broncos full-back Blake Roberts has been selected to tour Serbia as part of the England Lionhearts representative side.
The player's player-of-the-year last season will represent the North West men's league following trials at Golborne Parkside.
The 22-year-old has been a consistent performer over the past few years and is the first Broncos player to be selected for major representative honours.
Roberts, who has previously won the Rochdale and District young player-of-the-year award, is included in the 20-man squad which will head out to the sovereign state on May 5.
The Lionhearts will play in the Belgrade Cup on May 7 before taking on the Serbian National team two days later.
As the league are unable to make any contribution for Roberts to attend the tour, the Broncos are holding a race night on Saturday, February 21 to help raise the £575 he needs.
The event, which is being held at Bury Sports Club at 7pm, will follow the club's first friendly of the season.
If anyone is interested in helping support Roberts they can contact the club at contact@burybroncos.co.uk.
