Bury Broncos could be involved in new summer competitions for their Under-15s, U13s and U10s, according to club secretary Mike Palin.
And he is appealing for parents of players to get in touch to show their interest in his plan to get more teams running from their Phillips High School base.
“The school is a brilliant base, and we have a dedicated community rugby league coach based there,” he said. “The school have a girls’ team who have had some success and we’re hopeful that going into next year, there will be enough interest there and in other schools to get sides up an running. Summer games tend to be bi-lateral – we’ll arrange the fixture as and when we’ve the numbers so it works well.
“What we need is an idea of numbers and some off-field support and we are organising a meeting.”
Palin’s number is 07834 686374.
