BURY Broncos’ success on the road came to an end as they failed to record a fourth consecutive away victory in a niggly encounter at Crosfields, who had a man sent off.

Bury never quite recovered from a poor start when, after scoring first through a Phil Bygrave try, they conceded four tries in a disastrous seven-minute spell.

The Broncos fought back to 26-16 by half time with scores from Rick Brogan and Joe Galpin.

Bury reduced the deficit further when Adam Radford crossed but Crosfields hit back. Matthew Fish then defied his 6ft 9in frame to sprint clear and round the full back to score, but the hosts held on for the points.

The club will hold an open meeting at Stand Cricket Club on Wednesday, March 30 at 7.15pm. Contact Mike Palin on 07834 686374.
