ELLIOTT Bennett's first-ever goal for the Shakers separates the sides at Gigg Lane.
The youngster - on loan from Wolves - smashed the ball home from close range after Andy Bishop had drove the ball across the six yard box.
Bury thought they had scored 60 second earlier when Paul Scott had an effort chalked out for offside.
The Shakers skipper pounced when Jonathon Brain parried Adam Rooney's shot from the edge of the area.
Macclesfield looked dangerous early on, but failed to seriously test Jim Provett. Francis Green wasted their best opportunity, firing high and wide after a good cross from the left by James Jennings.
