Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman might get to solve another crime following reports their show The Killing is being resurrected.
The actors played cops hunting for the killer of a teenage girl in the US show, based on the cult hit Danish TV series Forbrydelsen, and although it debuted to critical acclaim it ended up facing a backlash from viewers after it failed to reveal who the culprit was at the end of series one.
In July, network AMC announced it would not be making a third season.
However, Deadline reports that the cable network is now close to a deal to bring the show back, this time in tandem with Netflix.
The show's bosses had previously indicated they hoped to save the programme, and Mireille and Joel are thought to be signed up if a third series is made.
Prior to the show's cancellation, Joel said he was determined to be back as officer Stephen Holder.
"I'm planning on doing the third season of The Killing," he declared. "I'll go up there and shoot it myself."
