Disheartened by council pay review

I AM a Unison member left angry and disheartened by the way Bury Council’s pay review has been handled, when even during the appeals procedure goalposts have been moved without discussion with our union.

Time off was a way of saying thank you

The unison and Police Federation representatives at Bury would like to clear up the issue surrounding Chief Superintendent Jon Rush’s gesture of the offer to his staff to take two hours time off during the run up to Christmas and beyond if needed.

I write as one of those accused by Mr Sutcliffe (‘Flourishing club should be encouraged’, November 27) of being a NIMBY for opposing Holcombe Brook Sports Club’s third attempt at relocation from its present site, this time into green belt land off Summerseat Lane.

More police needed to stop late night violence

IT was positive and refreshing to see the article in last week’s Bury Times regarding the town centre Pubwatch particularly because of the current state of Bury town centre and the large amount of alcohol-fuelled violent disorder and anti-social behaviour which occurs every weekend in the small hours.
